Suzanne Lee  

Food Waste Problem Is Everyone’s Problem – And What Can You Do?   – 11:10 a.m.  in the cafeteria

Susanne Lee is a Faculty Fellow at the University of Maine Senator George J Mitchell’s Center for Sustainability Solutions. At the Center she heads a student/faculty team working directly with state, business, and community stakeholders as well as national and global food waste experts to end food waste in Maine. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

 

Nicholas Repenning

Ferment Your World, an Exploration into the World of Microbial Cooking  – 1:10 p.m. in the cafeteria

Nicholas and his wife Mika Repenning are owners of Go-En Fermented Foods LLC, located in Whitefield. Go-En produces and sells miso and koji. Nicholas is also the organizer of the Maine Fermentation Fair, which will be held in Bowdoinham on October 21st and 22nd.

 

Bonnie Tobey

Maine Seaweed: History & Today   – 2:10 p.m. in the cafeteria

Bonnie Tobey is Operation’s Manager for SOURCE micronutrients which has been making nutritional supplements for horses, dogs and people since 1975.  She is also the President of the Maine Seaweed Council and as such works closely with seaweed farmers, researchers and the community to promote and sustain Maine’s nutritional gift of seaweed.
